Frankenstein oil

I change the oil in my 03 CRV with 142,000 miles roughly every 5,000 miles with synthetic oil using whatever stock I have that was on sale. It takes about 4.5 quarts with a new filter. I have been using the 5 quart jugs at Walmart and have a half quart leftover from each oil change which I mixed into one of the empty jugs. I now have 4.5 quarts of a mixture of G-oil, Pennzoil Platinum, Mobil 1 Extended Performance, Castrol Syntec, Quaker State Ultimate Durability. I don't remember exactly which of the oils I used to make the mixture but they were all 5W30 and mixed within the last 2 years. Would you feel comfortable with this type of Frankenstein mixture?

I do the same thing. When i change my families oil, i throw the extra leftovers into a Mobil 1 jug and use it for top offs on my Civic! I think there is Pennzoil conventional, Valvoline conventional, PU and some M1 in there right now ha.

Right on OP. that's the spirit. I'd get a used oil analysis done too,just to prove to myself whether mixing oils doesn't cause any harm,and ether quiet or assure the naysayers once I found out.

There was a used oil analysis done on something like this some time ago. It came back good.
