Does anyone have any experience/opinion on the Fram X2? Seems to be a well made filter and I believe some oil filter test sites felt it was the only Fram worth using.

There are other filters that cost about the same that have already been proven to be good, i.e. Mobil 1 and K&N. No sense in experimenting with that much money.

The only thing wrong with the X2, IMO, is the high price. Other than that, by all accounts, it seems top-notch.

Well, if you look at its construction, I would say it is probably worth what they charge for it (~$9-10 right?).
I mean it has a silicone ADV and synthetic media (with wire mesh backer that no other maker has as far as I am aware of), not sure on the bypass type on it though. Seems to be a hefty feeling filter (I know, not relevant).

It looks to be a good filter, but Fram isn't getting any of my money until they do something about the low end junk they sell. After all, it is MY money.

It is a great filter and I have personally torn three of them apart and they are built like a tank and you would be amazed to see how much filter media is in there.

Only reason I stopped using it was because their prices went up and the quaker state filters were a good replacement at half the price.

Good filter though and it will restrict flow quite a bit so use it only with thinner oils and not with a remote oil filter setup.

I know it would pin my oil pressure needle on the really cold days.

BlazerLT , can I ask you a ques. does the X2 have cardboard end-caps like the lower priced Frams. *** I hope not, but you never know. Im interested in the X2 only because Pep boys seems to be phasing out the pure ones. Thanks!
