I would have run that filter with COMPLETE 100% confidence...... that "dent" is insignificant and immaterial.

I think the filter is made well for reasonable application.

What unmodified car would be running such a high oil pressure enough to obliterate the media?
considering the tearing of the media was relatively not too difficult when you tore it.

10,000 miles seems good enough for this filter.

All synthetic media is backed with wire/screen/mesh, because it isn't rigid.
