Filter is now being wicked with paper towel to get the oil out of it. No more carbonaceous grit in the bottom of the can. No obvious metal in the filter, but won't really know until I am able to pull out the media and lay it out.

I cut a section of media out
wrap in paper towel
squeeze it in a vice
and Wah Lah, presto chango
Yeah, with previous filters (not sure if this is from the truck or Jeep, I have 3x that I wicked and lost track of which vehicle they came off of, lol) that I've wicked I've ripped chunks of media out, but it's a real pain to get a decent sized segment:

A couple sparklies there, but that's normal.

I am always afraid of squeezing out any metal material so I do it the hard way leaving it in a drain pan for days & changing the towels every so often.
