OVERKILL
$100 Site Donor 2021
This is the most recent filter off our 2019 RAM 1500 Sport with the 5.7L which sees mixed driving with a bias towards in town. Oil used was M1 EP 0w-20 and it was in there for 11,716Km (7,280 miles), changed when the OLM hit 0%.
Despite propping the ADBV open with a screw, there was still considerable oil in the can that flowed out when I cut it, making quite a mess. The media was clean of any debris, though there did appear to be some extremely fine "silt" in suspension in the oil sitting at the bottom of the can. These engines are pretty dirty birds, which is why AMSOIL has a TSB about them, and the GM LSx engines, not being able to run the filters for extended drains due to the particulate they generate.
Dent in the can is from the tool used to remove it, you can't get a cap or strap wrench on the filter due to its proximity to the EPS rack.
There was no oil added between changes.
