I apologize this isn't my best C&P, I was rushed and just wanted to see if the filter had any carbon from a OCI of Valvoline Restore and Protect

2020 F350 7.3L, Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W30, In service 200hrs, 6000km
In hindsight I for sure could have ran this another OCI but I played it safe.

I tried to get a picture inside the pleats but couldn't capture it on camera, there was some small carbon flakes in there but not much, more than I've seen not using Valvoline Restore and Protect.

Tried to cut some media out to get a better look but was too much of a struggle with the wire backed media and I was out of time.

Those can be a pain. Nice louvers on that one.

I have an old "big" steak type knife called a utility knife
I had never used even once.. so replaced it out of my cutting block..
Its been repurposed for oil filters only.

It will saw right through at the edges.. just need to ignore any micro pieces of screen you might get.
once you get it sawed down pretty good... most of the element will come right out
I think If I had grabbed the crimp with some vice grips it would have all come out in 1 piece.

Premium guard went back on and yes one more round of 5w30 Valvoline Restore and Protect and then I’ll switch to 0w40 for the winter

Very good sir. I have plenty of wire backed OG ULTRA’s. I plan to use some 3614’s on Dakota too.
