Well, like the ULTRA 4386 I wonder if it caught any “junk”. I’ll wait to hear from nthach

How many miles on it? If there is any noticeable junk caught you could spread some of the pleats and look down deep at the inside end of the pleats with a flashlight before deciding to cut out and spread the media. If you do cut and spread, it's a good idea to do a paper towel wick job on the media before cutting and spreading. The thick synthetic media on the OG Ultras hold a lot of residual oil.

I'll have a 3614 with about 18k on it in the next couple months. I'd love to cut it open and check it out. It's on it's third 6k OCI in my Jeep 3.8. Pretty certain it is the previous gen 3614. It won't be long until I run the new version. I'll probably go to 2k on it the first time I run it.

What's the preferred cutting tool for these things?

It was used for two OCIs on a 05 Sienna. I recall using PP and Valvoline MaxLife syn blend on it.
