Does Fram still make the Triad(not sure on spelling) air filter? This air filter was designed to trap more dirt from the shape of the pleats alone while still flowing the needed air.

I thought the triad had those orange triangular shaped plastic fibers to enhance the paper media filtering capability...
This could be, I haven't seen one in a while but, I thought the pleats were shaped differently as you are saying but without the plastic.
Triad was not the pleats but the shape of the fibers in the material that make the pleats. They used to have a picture of the material on the upper left of the box to show show how the fibers in the filter material look when blown up. Used to be a total FRAM guy.
