Looks good. What type of oil did you use?
Filter is looking good, the condition of the filter after 5k miles indicates your engine is in good condition.

The van was filled with 5 quarts of Pennzoil Platinum and had about 2.5 quarts of Valvoline SynPower as make-up oil. Oil consumption is common with these vans. One member on here has had luck reducing oil consumption with high mileage oil, so that's what I'm trying now. With 2.5 quarts of make-up oil, I'm sure it could have gone longer than 5,000 miles, but with a 1,500 mile road trip through mountains coming up, that I won't be a part of, I want to try and reduce consumption in case someone forgets to check the level.

If you want metal end caps so bad Merk; go buy a CARQUEST "RED" filter LOL

Great looking filter. I wish the TG was sold at more places around me only place is Walmart.i running one on my Kia now
Good looking filter, looks like it would have easily done another 5k

Have to admit though ... those non-metal end caps look like they are working just fine. I bet the OP couldn't tear those end caps off without destroying the filter.
