Very similar looking construction though it's efficiency is not necessarily the same and would be spec'd by Subaru.

Thanks! That thread answered a lot of my questions in regards to construction of the filters. Not what I was hoping for but what I expected

WARNING: Your sig. The only filter thats ever failed me was a Napa Gold. Almost lost the engine. Lost all oil pressure. Lucky I had a replacement filter in the car. I'm not alone. Thread about it on here. No official recall to warn people. Thought you should know.

*****..normally leaky ur pretty insighful...i sell wix/napa gold on a daily basis for years and have never once heard of or had an issue with any of our gold filters...fram spends all their money on marketing and no so much on the quality of filters.

Going OEM is the only way to go to avoid problems, didn't y'all know!!! lol

It does happen to most manufacturers at some point. The key here is being vigilant of your car, and what's potentially on the ground when you pull out.
