The Fram PH8A. What was once the pinnacle of ugly filters is now looking much better. This filter has seen a short run of just under 2000 miles. The oil was a mixture of used old oils (5w30 to 15w40). This came off a 93 F250 with a 4.9L 6 banger. Date code is A51281. 36 pleats total. No rips or tears. Enjoy a fine orange can of delight.

Looks about right...nothing to see here move along :):):)

Honestly looks good

The truck has since been pulled from the road. It will be used only in the yard. The Fram has been replaced with a cheap Chinese filter. Accompanied by more used oil. The engine is toast no point in wasting good oil in it.

That's my used oil! Do you need some more any time soon?

I dont know much about old Fords, but I had no idea they used that engine in the 250's. I wouldnt mind getting an old straight 6'd Ford eventually.

The filter looks very good by the way.

Nice! I picked up on the improvement sometime in 2015, they also upgraded it's ugly sister the PH16.

Running one now in fact thanks you saved me the trouble of a cut and post. By far a much better looking PH8A than the days of yesteryear.

I had a 300 cu in straight six in a 2WD '76 F250. With mud chains, it would go just about anywhere. The straight six produced very usable torque. The engine used 1 qt per 900 miles new.

Run - thanks for the cut & post. Filter looks good to me.

Not exactly frankenoil, I've given him used PYB, T6 and some other unused stuff I had laying around the shop.

Farmer a big thanks for the oil stash. I won't be needing anymore as the truck is now off the road.
