I saw a new Fram washable air filter at the store this weekend.

It is a dry filter that is washed out with dish soap.

It is not the short lived SynWash they had available 6 months ago.

I think they are trying to copy Amsoil this time, instead of K+N

I have not seen the inside of the box. I have to wait for another person to get nosy and rip-off the cellophane cover.

What's the price like? I tried the synwash since it was supposed to perform better then K&N, but was disappointed in how little dirt it seemed to trap and how cleaning it didn't seem to get much of the dirt out.

I'll keep my K&N. After a week camping on dusty dirt roads and off roading in sand and mud the engine side of the intake tract is clean as it was new.

Short Lived? The SynWash filter has been available for years.

Well, he probably means it disappeared off shelves shortly after it was introduced. Kinda like Castrol Edge. I havent even seen a Synwash in two years or so.

Take one and hold it up to sunlight. If you can see the sun pinhole through it be sure to leave it on the shelf for some other sucker LOL! Again I must say that I wish that I would have originated the high dollar high flow air filter business model!!!!!
