First time post from a long time lurker. Since everyone has been talking about the Frame Titanium no longer being wire-backed, I thought I'd upload a pic of my FS3600 that was in use for 10k miles on my 2017 Corolla. Seems to work fine - no issues, just wasn't wire-backed as the box claimed lol. **I tore the media with my thumb and finger to look for the wire backing. The media did not collapse.**

The box claimed it was wire backed? Guess they didn't update it then. Only the endurance is supposed to be wire backed but it doesn't matter to be honest. I'd use the cheaper silver tough guard on it.

Older FS3600s can be wire backed, but you have to look for them. Best done in areas where no one would pay that much money for a filter. Surprisingly wire backed OG Ultra 3600s turn up at Meijer occasionally too.

Yes, I bought this filter about three months ago. I had been using XG4967's for a few years but I'm not sure if I ever got one that was wire-backed. The XG4967 and XG7317 from my wife's Outback that I cut open in Spring were not wire-backed. I know it probably doesn't make a substantial difference, I'm just trying to use as good of a filter as I can since I put 1,000 miles per week in the car commuting to/from work.

For me the best filters are usually OEM.

Just my $0.02

Same thing happened with the Ultra when it was going from wire-backed to not wire-backed. Guess Fram wanted to use up their stock of old boxes.
Makes sense. I've read a lot of your posts and comments regarding the Frame Endurance so I picked one up today. This oci I'm going to (possibly foolishly) go 10k miles. Bought a jug of Mobile 1 EP 5W30 and an oversized Fram FE3600 for my 2017 Corolla. I drive 200 miles a day, all highway @70mph accept for the exit ramp at work and neighborhood street at home. The car has 130k miles on it.

A 10K OCI should be fine due to the driving style with that car ... mostly long driven highway miles. Not much of a case for fuel dilution or moisture not burning off in that kind of driving.

I’d do a UOA. I wonder if you could go farther than 10k? Especially if you are using good oil like M1. It seems like you are pretty easy on the vehicle with almost 100% highway miles.

Just my $0.02

You can do it-the xB in my sig did 2 ~10K OCIs on M1 EP 5W30 and one XG3600 (granted, OG wire backed), and it was mostly in-town running (although the little 1.5 1NZFE is fully warmed up in a mile or less). After 19,700 miles the filter barely looked broken in.
