I was on the www.FRAM.Com website, trying to look up the 3600. I plugged in 2005 Taurus for which Fram has been recommending a 3600 for years. Surprisingly, it recommended a model 2, such as in FE2. For any 3600 users, is Fram now recommending the model 2 ? Here are screen shots of the two.

FE2 and FE3600 are completely different threads

3600 is 3/4-16 and 2 is metric, M22 maybe?

The bigger 3/4-16 filter would be FE16 which is shorter and fatter. Or the much bigger 3/4-16 filter would be the 8A which is about the same length as a 3600 but the diameter of the 16.

Yes. Here are the two screen shots showing the details. I believe the Fram website is haywire.

Did you select the correct 3.0L?

There's a 3.0 OHV and a 3.0DOHC. The 3.0DOHC does take the metric thread. Your top screenshot references the DOHC.

Just did the product finder myself, the 181ci is the DOHC and the 182CI is the OHV and the 182CI references the 3600 size.
Yes, you solved it! I’m used to selecting the top choice, which is usually the OHV. I’m going to try their tech line and inform them they should change the description back to OHV and DOHC. I have to admit I did not know the DOHC took the metric thread. Thanks. Problem solved!

Glad it’s solved. Too many years working at Jiffy Lube in that era, those numbers are burned in my brain lol
