The light leakage assembled was the same IMO. I had drilled one location hole on top and several on the sides before settling on the final four I drilled and opened. I wanted a better side view because the leakage was under a lip but failed. It’s tighter in the dome than I expected. Side note, the drill bits(3/8) went through with little effort.

Ya, 3/8" was my thought too, I was thinking start with a 1/8" bit but the can is so thin may not make a difference, apparently, it didn't.
The OG Ultra had the fiber gasket on the media housing ends, which I thought was a great idea, & that coupled with the stellar filtration evidenced by @Ascent Filtration Testing a few years ago had sold me on Fram. Now, downgrade after downgrade, unannounced, has made this brand suspect. I am using the "new" Ultra now, the larger center tube allowing shorter pleats that hopefully will stand up. Now I have to wonder about the leaf spring set up in that??? Wow......
I honestly had hope it wouldn’t leak assembled. No more good wire backed options left out there…
Hey @Pablo I’m just wondering what suggestion you might have in the case that I have a couple filters I no longer have confidence in running during extended OCI.
I’m not going to tear into them to prove or disprove if the ones I have in fact have the defect. Do you think Amsoil would be interested in feedback or willing to return unused filters in this situation?

What part # Titanium are you using?
If you send me one I’ll test it. But I’m 99% sure the felt end cap would act as a very fine seal.
What defect?
Contact Amsoil if you want to return. Or just run them a regular interval.

Apparently, the bypass valves aren’t sealing to the filter end caps and would allow unfiltered oil to pass through.
I’ll be contacting Amsoil to see if they are aware.

It does seem to be the case. I linked this video back on page 2. Seems to have the same flaw as the fram endurance:
Not 100% convinced this is a failure. Has the actual manufacturer commented on this?

Did you scroll through this entire thread? There are sister threads to this mentioned throughout.
As a side note, I did show lower particle count on the Endurance than the EaO
There is a separate thread, showing a wire backed ultra with no light. I’m not aware of anyone having contacted a manufacturer. Of the several threads now, I have not read through all of the discussions.
EDIT: I should add that I was not intending to put you on the spot. I thought you may have already known of the discussions. I see now that was rather presumptuous. However, I don’t see how a leaking bypass would be much different in function than a tear through the media: Unfiltered oil will be passed.

I saw the video. It is interesting. BUT Just shining a light through filter from the inside does not mean unfiltered oil leaks through from the outside. I am not saying it doesn't, I'm just asking has anyone proven this with oil flow?
@Glenda W. Just snagged two OG Titanium filters. Last two at this AAP. I’ll be good until 2026 as I’m running Amsoil Signature Series.
