Fram Endurance FE9688 from my John Deere 3025E, yanmar 25hp engine. Yearly oil change, only 6.5 hrs on the filter and oil, 159.6 hrs on the engine. The spring plate did have same waves, however sealed very well.

In: Mobil Delvac ESP 5w-40 and Carquest premium 85335 oil filter

What made you conclude it sealed well? I don't see any obvious "nubs" on the leaf spring or the end plate hole inner circumference. So maybe the leaf spring fits real tight in the end cap hole and seals because there's no nubs to stand if off the hole circumference - ??.

It wasn’t leaking oil out. The media was leaking, but once it drained down the spring was holding the oil. I’m sure it has to leak some, but it isn’t much compared to the flow through the media.

Yeah, I don’t use the tractor much but it’s dusty when I do, and I was a little worried about the filter spring bypassing oil. I will probably still change them yearly. $30 for oil and filter is cheap insurance.

Dusty, keep an eye on the Air Filter, realize that the Air Filter is more important than the Oil Filter in the conditions you are using this Tractor.

I knew going into it wasn’t going to be dirty, however I change all oils at least once a year in spring. It’s a waste of money to you, but to me it’s extremely cheap insurance.
