looks great like the other, wish First brands wouldn’t have ruined these.

Looks like an older build with date code of the 36th day of 2024. Back when the leaf spring stamping machine worked like it should.
 
10575 Has been a solid filter for me in my 15 5.0. Running 7k in 10 months on average over 10 years.
 
The filter looks well built, and it held together very well, but it was in service too long IMO.
It looks terrible. It would be interesting to know how well it was actually filtering at the end of it’s service.
I’ll never buy into these extended intervals with oil filters. Extended OCI’s with the oil, maybe, but never on the filters.
 
Filter looks good, has done its job admirably. I follow most of your posts on these filters. I see you’ve switched over to almost entirely, if not entirely HPL oil. How many miles do you think you have across the fleet on HPL?

Filter looks good structurally, and it probably did do it’s job admirably, but I believe it’s been pushed passed it’s limits.
It looks terrible. Until I see proof that it was filtering efficiently, which will not happen, I say it was pushed too far.

the Endurances look like this regardless of time in service. all of the trucks get a HPL Engine Cleaner 30 run prior to HPL switch over and most of the filters after 12k are pretty clean. i don’t have the time to dry all of the filters i touch but i do not believe the filters are used up at this point.

i’d have to do some serious digging but i would say we are approaching the high 200K’s across the fleet on HPL.

unfortunately i am on my way out at this job. it has become too much for me with my actual job so i am beginning to train a replacement that will handle only PM’s. no major mechanic work so the fleet will cost more to operate but atleast not getting killed on OCI’s/air/cabin filters.

How did you ever land on 12k -vs- 10k or 15k ?

In initial talks with HPL, Dave assured me that the PCEO line could comfortably double our existing 6K OCI. this and a few used oil analysis from the 5.3L LT and 6.6L L8T and everything looked great at 12k. not worried about the LS powered trucks, we know LS motors are easy on oil in stock form. while i probably could push the oil further, 12k is a good interval for me to put my eyes on the trucks, air filters and grease etc.
