FP vs MMO

They say FP eliminates soot in the exhaust pipe (and presumably all the way up the line). Try what I am doing for the Redline SI-1 fuel system and valve cleaner: Clean out the tailpipe and then run it maybe a thousand miles and see if there is any soot. If there is, then try FP and see if it works better.

Do the test yourself. Stick with one gas station. Buy a gallon each of FP, MMO, Lucas, whatever brand gasoline additive,....... and start using up each. Logging MPG is an easy data comparator between brands.
I haven't noticed a difference in MPG/power between any of the products and stick with the more readily available ones.

Bummer. The soot is back in only 100 miles! Wish I could get a smaller bottle of FP to try out. I hear they may soon have smaller bottles available.
LCD, Am I to understand that if I use FP my tail pipe will not develop any soot? I am already useing useing LC. You are garanteeing that I will ot develop any soot in the exhaust sytem? I ask because if their is a money back gurantee I will order a gallon of FP next payday!

I would think for one thing that if the engine is running too rich it will make soot regardless of FP. Also, does soot in the tailpipe really indicate deposits all the way up the line? Is it possible that these tailpipe deposits occur because of significantly cooler conditions at the tailpipe vs at the engine? I don't know, just asking. Willing to try FP but maybe wait for smaller bottles.

It may take some time, but using both LC and FP will greatly reduce if not eliminate the black soot from your tail pipe. It is tougher with a diesel engine, but it will reduce it greatly.
I am continualy amazed that Odis tailpipe, no matter how hard I rub there is no soot....NONE. He has had his truck since the 80's and used these products from the start, so he is not fighting an uphill battle as someone starting to use LC/FP with many miles on the engine.
My tahoe is getting better, much less than it had a year ago when I began using LC/FP.

I know for a fact that soot on the tailpipes is an indication of how efficient your catalytic convertor is. When I had headers and no cat on my car, I was cleaning black crap off my tips and bumper cover weekly. Now that I'm running a factory cat again, the tips stay clean and shiny.

Do you have any before/after boroscope pictures of an engine running FP? I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on a gallon, but would like one last little "nudge". If it shows that it can de-carbonize the C.C. effectively, and proves itself to me in my own car, I think my pull on another car forum I frequent can get you a lot of orders. I know I shouldn't mention its name here or add a link, but it rhymes with ClubGP.

I have no boroscope pics, and I doubt Odis does. That may be something Terry has, but I do not think that they included that when testing.

I've been running FP for quite a while now in every tank on my 98 chevy silverado with the 5.7L and I still get black soot in the tips of my exhaust. I run duel exhaust on this truck so that might have altered how efficiently this truck runs. I don't currently use LC but do use Auto-RX maintainence dose.
I just cleaned out the tips on my truck tonight so I will see how long it takes for it to get the soot back.

LC is critical in this as well. To keep your soot low you need to run both. Also, it may take some time for it to be cleaned up.
Like I said above I have been running them both a year on my used Tahoe (72,000 miles when I bought it) and it has cleared up considerably, but not completely.
I am fighting the 72,000 miles these products were not used.

Remember that a gallon of this stuff isn't too much money. Heck two bottles of chevron techron almost cost as much as an entire gallon of FP

LCD, I know we can always return a product if we are not happy with it. I was just woundering if some of these claims about FP were going to be backed up explictly. Frank is always adimit about backing up the claims he makes about Auto-Rx. You have to admit some of your hard copy sounds like "Snake Oil" over the top hype.

Guys, as far as tail pipe cleanliness that really is a function of too many variables to pin down.

A better judgement is emissions testing using BOTH LC and FP.
Note Auto-RX can be substituted for the LC for periodic cleaning to get the deeper cleaning accomplished.
Regardless of the regime you choose, if you use FP with either you are going to get cleaner emissions, better oil analysis results, and like new, by design MPG.
You really can't go wrong with LC and FP, or RX periodically with a continous FP load.

I'll be the first to agree about what you say above. It took me 4 years to realize what Odis' products are really able to do. I was like everyone else.....skeptical.
Many of the testimonials do seem to good to be true, but I have slowly realized these products do do what Odis says. I have come to believe so much in them I began helping Odis sell his products and I am hoping to make it a full time occupation.
I would not be here if I honestly did not believe 100% in these products. My conscience would not let me promote something that was snake oil.
