FP and clean tailpipe

Hello everyone,

I have an '05 Yukon and I just started using FP with every tank full.

I just started noticing that the soot in the tailpipe is clearing out. It is getting little white spots and if I stop they go back to black. I would imagine the longer I use the FP the tailpipe with start looking like new again.

Has anyone else noticed this?

you could just take some metal polish to the tips, I do that to my cat back at every car wash, and keep my exhaust looking brand new.

I find it hard to believe that Fuel Power can clean soot out of the tailpipe. I would think you would have to clean out the tailpipe with carb cleaner first and then the FP should prevent further deposits.

Exactly Tall, What I see is that sooty exhaust deposit is cleaned up and the condensed water, post CAT exhaust, tends to flush the deposits from the exahust pipe that the observer can see.

Well my gallon of FP just arrived today and filled 4 tanks with the initial shock dose of 2 oz per 5 gallons. All these tanks had some Neutra in them so I guess I will have a sort of MolaBrew a bit heavy on the Neutra. Also, I just cleaned out my tailpipes with intake cleaner for a jump start. If the tailpipe remains clean I will be convinced. But I also am hoping for that smoothed idle and other results.

A very nice thing is it is not as stinky as Neutra and best of all, I got some on my finger and there is little if any persistence to the odor. With Neutra my wife would have a fit if I got some on my finger as no amount of washing coudl take the stink away.

My liver is probably not the best. I was a pump jockey for four years as a teen and must have inhaled a lot of fumes, not to mention the oil stained hands that never came clean unless I took a vacation. An maybe I should stop using electronic contact cleaner to get stubborn grease off my hands. Anyway, it hasn't affected my brain--yet.

I noticed the same effect (less soot) at the tailpipe as well. However, I wonder what's behind that? There should be carbon as the result of the combustion no matter how efficient the process is. If the carbon does not go out, where does it stay?

Yugrus, LC and FP turn it to colloidal lubricant (in theory).

If not using those the tops of the piston, gumming rings, and valves, CC walls.

Use some milkweed tablets Paul, helps me and I have been exposed over the years more than I should have been. Military didn't always protect us using harmful chems.

The instructions say one ounce per 5 gallons of gas. What is this "initial shock treament" of a double dose for and all about?

I googled milkweed and health and found out that it has a number of properties, one of which it to detoxify your body. The other, however, is a heart stimulant. Well, I'll ask my cardiologist since I am already on medication to help control atrial fibrillation and skipping heartbeats.

Oh yeah, I think there was also a component of milkweed that could be bad for you if you took too much. Can't remember what. Maybe was the heart stimulant.

Back to topic, well sort of. Why does the little measuring bottle say 1 oz per 5 gal and initial dose of 2 oz per 5 gal, which I believe is correct, but the back of the gallon jug also has a statement that neglected systems may need a shock dose of "3 ounces per tank." Huh?

Was it supposed to say 3 ounces per 5 gallons?

Anyway, my system hardly is neglected after a year of Neutra 131. Just wondering.

Meanwhile, I'll keep an eye on the tailpipes.

I think he probably ment Milkthistle. It is supposed to be good for the liver,and in a recent study for the effects on the liver found it may also be good for the prostrate.

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention, besides my gasoline exposure, I also spent several years in screen printing, cleaning screens with Xylol and bare hands. Probably absorbed a lot of that stuff too.

Milk thistle IS what I meant but I understand that Milk weed also have been described as having some medicinal capabilities in restoring liver filtering function.Disclaimer I am a lubricant analyst not a medical physician.

LC/FP instructions; many of the recommendations for use on some of the older bottles are from the pre buyout by LCD of Odis Beavers control of LC. LCD is trying to give a consistant level of recommendation. The product has been in use for 60 years so if you overdue the application do not fear damage, you are just wasting product.

LC and FP are variable level adds, meaning you need to add them based on need of the unit and application.

1 ounce per 5 gallons for most fuels using FP60 is fine. 2 ounce per 5 is shock dose to begin cleaning in earnest ( martyi). 1/2 ounce FP60 to 5 gallons for very clean and normal operating engines can be effective.

I understand now, thank you for serving. I have been an Electrical/Environmental tech on B-52s for 13 years. Not sure if you knew the acronym NDI (Non Destructive Inspection) or not, but just in case. They do X-rays, eddy current, and burn JOAP (Joint Oil Analysis Program) samples. I would love to have them do samples for me but I guess that would be FW&A. Hazardous waste programs are a pain in the butt, I spent two years as a Haz Waste Manager.

For what it's worth, my exhaust has remained completely soot-free since I bought my car new, and after using FP60.
