I simply asked what are you basing your information on that Havoline has a much better add.package? Do you even know anything about Amalie/Wolf`s head oil? or are you just assuming?

There are no UOA/VOA's on it except its Marine oil which was formulated with a lot of additives and turned out to be top notch!
I have used it with no ill results, no varnishing of the engine did some cleaning in my 4.0 Wrangler. Its SM rated. Now like I said, if someone else is here in North Jersey and is willing to meet with me I'll grab a quart from a buddies shop and you can pay for the VOA on it.

Thanks for the link. Saw the vi of 140 with the 5-20. I think I might pass. Auto Barn here in NY carries Wolf Head at times. Vi of 140 is too scary for my choice.

I don't see why the fact that a company makes non-additive oils (did you mean non-detergent?) means their regular engine oils wouldn't be worth a lick. Theres stuff that requires non-detergent oils, such as our air compressors at work for example. Theres a need for it, and they are filling it. I'm not saying its as good as Havoline, i was just stating that I have one oil change to go with that, and then I'm switching to wolfs head. Its just something I wanted to try. I don't think there is really a bad SM rated oil out there these days.

I take it VI means "viscosity index?" If so, what is that and how do the #'s relate to it? What is considered good?
