so I found 3 gallons of some older delvac 1300. shake it up and use it? toss it?
anyone have a oil analysis of this oil?
none of my cummins engines have egr or after treatment.
is this what some would say the old stuff is the good stuff?

Just shake it up good, and throw it in. It'll be fine IMO. When my grandfather died, he had a stash of conventional 10w40, that were in the cans you had to puncture with that oil spout thing with the blade. 70's oil cans. I used it up in newer cars and OPE. No issues.

Neato find! If it were mine, I would:

1. Send a sample for VOA. Just curious.

2. My engine actually specs CF, and CD if CF isn't available. If the VOA came back fine(extremely doubtful), I would give brief thought to running it for a short OCI. Unlikely though, not many headaches I'm willing to even consider taking on over $50.

3. Whether I run the oil through my engine before recycling it or just send it straight to recycling, one empty jug would wind up on a wall as shop art.

Looking forward to hearing what you decide to do with it.

There IS a VOA of almost that exact oil posted by someone who had the same oil in the same jugs!!
I’d absolutely use it, would not waste it at all!!
