I was out for a drive today, about 45 miles from home and I stopped into the Canadian Tire store there. I proceeded down to the lubricant section, and I saw a few jugs of Delvac 1300 on the shelf. I've never seen this oil at any other Canadian Tire I've been to. They want $29.76 for a 4 liter jug! Isn't that rather high?

Its still under $6.00 US per US Gallon in USA WalMarts.

Yes, does seem rather high. We can get Mobil 1 Truck and SUV in a 5 US quart container for $20 US. That's about the same price as you quoted for 1300.

Yep...way too high. I just bought 6 gallon jugs of Delvac for $5.66 each at Walmart...

Sounds like Corona beer in the US. I remember when it usually some of the cheaper stuff available as it was pretty watered down, but distribution and marketing being what is, you stuff a lime in the bottle, it becomes trendy and charge $6 to $8 a six pack. I guess Mobil oils are expensive in Canada while Exxon oils seem just plain unavailable in the US.

Even with the exchange rate factored in, everything in Canada runs higher. Cost of socialism does run expensive.
