you mean the spinner? not yet? what' its approximate value? yes, it's a centrifuge.

If it's functional, a decent amount I would imagine. It's an odd installation on a school bus ..but maybe not.

Snap some more images with it broken down (just to share).

went back to buy it and they moved the passenger bus to another location there and a part that i took off and left near the filter fell and got lost!! Do they still sell replacement parts for this? If they do,i might go back and buy what i can. I'll take pics next time

went back today and i found another one, complete and i bought it!!! It appears to be a little smaller, nonetheless it's a spinner.Although i didnt check the other trash trucks there (8) They are all the same and should also have them.

Hi,
dave66nova - Is it a Federal Mogul device? If so what are the accurate model details?

Many such as the FM060-LCB version I used requires an air supply to limit the oil level in the bowl. A good gravity "driven" return is needed when mounting

This is what he originally was asking about, Doug. It looks more like an exchanger than anything else. He may have found another item ..

I took it apart and it looks exactly like the first one that i found. I can't view the pic you posted because i'm at work.It does say spinner on it and the base says made by glacier in England. It also had some engine oil in the inside. The inside piece does rotate.

You may not be able to practically use the thing, but it should pull some decent coin if you can clean it up and it proves functional.

Hi,
well now that is a device. It is likely an old "Spinner"! Has it got a replacebale paper element in it (like a blotter) and what shape is the rotating device? - some disassembled phots would help. IIRC Glacier was part of the Federal=Mogul Group at some stage

Sure looks like an intercooler - any evidence of coolant jackets or an element!

Now MANN-Hummel Spinner centrifuge devices (as I mentioned above) are about $A2200 installed. You know what they are as soon as the lid is taken off - a bit confusing for some of course when fitted as there are both pressure and non pressure oil lines plus an air supply line attached - and they make a muffled noise when warmed up and in operation

are you talking about the pic in this post or the url i posted?

Doug knows that what I posted (your original photo) is a heat exchanger (which is what I was sure it was). He's used many centrifuges on his company's (as in HIS company's) rigs.

Now he wants to know if there's a paper element inside the centrifuge so he can give you a bearing on its resale value (or current viability in the face of newer products).

Right now, you're looking at around $2000 for a centrifuge. If you're picking it up for salvage, you may be able to make some coin. It would be hard to adapt to anything without an air compressor.

I see descriptive writing wasn't one of your strong suits

(it isn't mine either)

Get an image or two, that will settle the matter.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade here ..... but brand-new Spinner centrifuges can be had for alot less than $2K ..... depending on the size .....

I found the smallest model Spinner available at Fryer to Fuel's online store for $299 .... the biggest models are significantly more than that ..... if you need to process more than 1 or 2 gallons of oil per minute .....

They carry DieselCraft and MagStar centrifuges as well.

High and dry here. I doubt that a smaller spinner would be installed on an OTR installation. I think it would require too frequent a service interval to be practical. 250cc capacity wouldn't go too far in those applications.
