how long do you think I could run this in an '04 F150 4.2 V6 that has 110,000 miles would prob use it with another Mobil 1 Extended Performance filter...currently running Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W20

With non-severe driving conditions, no short trips, not many stop and go traffic, no racing, no heavy towing ... Then 10-12k miles or 1 year whichever is first.

Will you be doing UOA ??? IMO, if your driving is NOT Severe.... I would not go further than 10K.

If your driving habits are SEVERE....to be safe...I would do an OCI at about 6000 to 7K.

IMO...Formula Shell Full Synthetic is good oil and it depends on the vehicle and driving conditions for the period of miles you can effectively run the oil. Some engines are hard on oils while others are not. Fuel dilution from injectors is always something to throw into the mix with driving conditions.

As the other posters have suggested....it might be best to pull a sample of your oil at 6K and have it analysed to see how your particular vehicle will handle the oil.

I ran a mix of a gallon of Shell Rotella T6, 5w-40 and 2 quarts of Formula Shell full synthetic, 5w30 for 7K and then added 18 ounces of Kreen for the last 1.1K miles. My engine still ran fine with the Shell oils and Kreen mix when it was changed out after 8.1K miles.

I use formula shell conventional for 6 months/7K whatever is first. Since Synthetic has to be twice as good as conventional 1 year or 14K is what I would use synthetic for. Just joking on the last part. You not have an idea what would be a safe OCI without a used oil analysis.
