all the OP's observations are fine and dandy, but selfish. not to pick, but that's how most things are w/ people; "well, it doesn't affect me, so who cares?"
I also think I've got it pretty good, but outside forces have made things more difficult. property taxes are higher, food costs are higher, insurance has gone up as well, so I HAVE to be concerned about what's going on in the world beyond my picket fence.

I'd speculate that you're way further along than Clark (or Mr. Clark). His views are from someone who can just work harder and isn't "peaked" for output ..or on the hind side of his curve (laden down with debt of probably the sensible nature). You were at a nice buoyancy state with "future" visions. He can't see that far since his isn't a chosen path yet.

You're committed ..he is not.

irregardlessly, however, there ARE more, important, things, like, i.e., punctuation and grammar checking randomlessonly.

I don't think the OP's post is selfish. Property taxes, food prices etc. might be going up, but being overly concerned and worried about these things accomplishes nothing. Do what you can to shelter yourself and your loved ones from these things and then don't worry yourself to death. These things are happening and will continue to happen irregardless of whether you fret about them or not.

actually, I agree w/ you; 'selfish' was used not in the childish way, but more of not looking too far ahead of one's nose. I try to look at the big picture to see that isssues in the world do/will affect me on some level. I wouldn't say I'm 'worried' as in fearful, but observant.
irregardless of the state of the union, I am aware that all I have control over is myself and how I project my feelings onto others, so I'm trying to dealw/ that and be the best person/husband/father/son/brother/employee I can be.

My mistake there...although Mori's analysis of why it shouldn't exist is spot on.

Only 3.5? I had you pegged at 5 stars for knowing Honda/Acura stuff (I may need you one day!) the last name of Clark is an added bonus. Actually, it was my grandma's maiden name and she is from Rochester, MN. AcuraTech, are we cousins?

Whenever someone decides to start calling me Clark Grizwald I simply start calling them Cousin Eddie. That usually takes care of that problem.

Referring to the metal plate in Eddie's head........"Every time Catherine would fire up the microwave, I'd [censored] my pants and forget who I was for a half hour."

I beleive the name is spelled Griswold, actually.
one time on a family vacation in FL, we piled out of the family wagon and some punk college kids said, 'hey look, it's the Griswolds!'. that doesn't do much for a 12yrd old's self esteem, I'll tell you that...

Well, you were in a Family Truckster
