The owners manual calls for Ford type F in my inlaw's 95 Mark VIII power steering. Will the ART Super Shift fluid from AMSOIL work? It says Ford type F or can I just use their ATF?

Yes it will work, my 95 Grand Marquis calls for it and I flushed my steering system with it back during the summer. I did a couple of drain-and-fills with the universal ATF back in 2005, but then it appeared that their product application guide changed and recommended the Super Shift.
So far I have nothing to complain about, the pump is less hissy and the steering is a little easier. From now on I am just going to drain and fill the reservoir every year.

I would use the Amsoil Type F (ART) Good stuff. (Although the ATF will work fine)
You can use Mercon for all Ford power steering.
