Ford Syn Blend 5w20 vs Supertech Fully Syn 5w20

I have not done a price check lately, but looking online this morning it is $27.00 for two 5 quart jugs. I beleive my local Costco also has 12 quart pack too (not sure of the price). -- Kirkland 0W-20

Walmart has the 12 pack for $30.00 so it is a better deal (unless the Kirkland is similarly priced--then it would be whichever store is more convenient) - SuperTech 0W-20

The $27 on-line is delivered. I just bought in store for $21.29, which is $3 off the regular price.

Had to stop in for a few things and saw this. I will be switching the Explorer over to it after my next OC of Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-20 (it was the "original" AFE that had the Ford 5W-20 specification on the jug prior to Ford creating a 0W-20 specification) and is the last of it I have..

Hard to beat an SN+ Dexos Gen 2 oil for $11.00 a jug without any rebate hassles.

I will switch to Kirkland as soon as they start stocking 0W-20 or 5W-20 in their Canadian stores... right now they only have 5w30.

Until then, will keep using the cheapest oil I get my hands on!

Scaeffer's 7000
Pennzoil Gold

That covers the two Blends I would buy over WPP. After that I would buy WPP Synthetic from whichever source had it the cheapest (Kirkland, SuperTech, Traveller's etc).

At current prices Schaeffer's 7000 is cost prohibitive and Pennzoil Gold doesn't make much sense.

Pennzoil Gold is $21.96 per 5 quart of 0W-20 and I had rather have Quaker State Ultimate Durability at $17.97.

MC Blend $18.76

At those prices MC is the first eliminated.

I've run the Motorcraft blend in my 2.7 F150 since new, currently with 62,500 miles. After an analysis, I set my OCI at 7500 miles.
The highest mileage 2.7 I'm aware of has just shy of 400,000 miles on it and has had a steady diet of MC semi/syn 5w30. Pat changes it when the dashboard tells him to, which is every 10,000 miles.
Based on my experience and watching the miles roll up on Pat's Ford using the same oil, I'll stick with the Motorcraft.

The new SP rated MC has my attention, it got a good little boost in additives as well as ST did to they both look great. If my truck doesn't like the Valvoline like it didn't the Rotella gas truck, ill try the MC once and then go back to Amsoil signature series. I'm trying to find a off the shelf oil that will keep my valvetrain as quiet as the Amsoil did. The only reason I dont go back now is I dont like extended OCI with the eco because of shearing and fuel dilution so I still with something I dont feel bad draining at 3-4k miles

I’d run Motorcraft only in it just because in my Fords I like to use OEM stuff. And for a few other reasons too.
