Are these bits from oil filter manufacturing or from the engine?

Filter Number: 9C2E 6714 CA

1200 miles on this engine/oil/filter. It's the first change.

Ford buys the oil filters I would suppose, not make them. I guess Ford can buy PG filters and we throw in the towel on filter making.
The chip looks like from the engine.

I have done plenty of factory OEM oil filter dissections over the years and that is about average of what I have seen for assembly material. I would not sweat that.

Another good reason to do a change around 1k. That's a pretty big piece from the norm. As stated, Machining debris left over.

I'm primarily interested in getting the wear items (iron, copper, silicon) out of there, but cleaning out the filter seems to be a good thing too. Either way, I change it because it won't hurt and I'm gathering data along the way.

If you're on this site thinking about it, do it. But plenty of people out there don't, and their cars last plenty long too.
