The problem is that no one locally know who on earth is able to pay these prices for houses, and there seem to be a lot of out-of-state people buying them as investments.

Ain't that the truth. My house in Va beach I bought in 2001 for $118,000. Sold it in 2004 for $185,000. Property values are going through the roof. I wouldn't go back there if you paid me to.

George Bush signed into law CAFTA.

It will remove what's left of textile manufacturing the USA, mainly socks that are made in Fort Payne, AL and in Northern NC.

Anybody seem to care about that?

Man, thats a bargain. You can't even get a townhouse in the slump for less than 600k here.

Our neighborhood has seen ~100% growth every year for the last seven.
I couldn't buy my house today if I wanted to.
Good or bad?

Yikes.
