I can see Ford selling the European business to another automaker. Patriotism can go both way, it works for your domestic market but it can also hurt your foreign market. Selling it to another local European (or even Indian ownership) to fix your balance sheet could be a winning solution to everyone.

Ford stock pays a 6% dividend annually at current share prices. There are not too many stocks that do that.
