a joke but imo not really correct.
ford trucks are some of the best vehicles out there.

Now if they could have made it a focus with that crap DSG transmission they insisted on using for years after knowing it had massive problems....

I own 3 Ford Vehicles. 2010 Focus, 2015 F150 and a 2018 Ford F350. We used to have a 2002 F250 with the 7.3 Powerstroke bought new and it was the best most reliable vehicle I ever owned. Better that the 84 Toyota p/u. 92 p/u and the 2006 p/u though I love the 2.7 4 cyl in the 2006 Toyota.

The biggest complaint I have on my Fords is how ridiculous they are to work on. It took me a total of 6 hours to get the starter out of my grand marquis! Ridiculous! The alternator on my focus was inside the exhaust manifold. They just build their vehicles in a manner that's not possible to easily repair

Is that the same engine with the water pump inside the front cover? 🐒

I'm sure they're not.
Photos from a 2014 with 125,000 miles on it I was appraising yesterday.
Every body panel had significant rust damage.
This is not a one off.
And then you're chasing electrical issues.

Can't speak for the trucks, but the Fusion I had, from brand new, was a disaster. The Escape I have seems better, but at 15K and already there are like 5 recalls, 3 for engine and 2 for brakes. I would never buy a Ford with my own money. Company buys them, so stuck with them.

MY issue was the Fusion 1.5 Eco-boost engine. Engine went at 82K. Tons of these cars were littered all over dealerships across the country. ARI (Fleet company) told me they get 2 or 3 a week that fail. The issue? Known engine defect, yet they sent ARI a 7K repair bill to swap the short block! When it was their crap designed engine that was the issue. IF that was my car, I would be typing this from jail......

Edit: I know this is the humor section, but just wanted to put it out there, as my experience was far from humorous.

Makes you want to use some krown eh?

Yes, and I do.
I had a 2014 Ram that used Krown beside a 2014 Ford F150 that didn't, looked at them in April. Same miles.
The Ram pulled $15,000 on trade, the Ford $4,000. The Ford was rotted out.
Krown is $150 a year.
If only I had a good place down here. Krown is more interesting to me because its not so gooey as fluidfilm but very effective.

closest one is 70miles.

Nothing rusts like a Ford. That's for sure. There's 2016 superdutys up here with the bed colapsed from rust!

Back 20 or so years ago I raced a Panoz Roadster in SCCA for a couple of years. Also "lively" street driving on DOT R tires. It had the Ford Cobra SVT drivetrain (4.6L DOHC V8), brakes and electrical. Every drive saw plenty of full throttle to redline and cornering at 1.3 G. The chassis had a few minor issues (great factory support from Panoz), but all the Ford stuff was rock solid, never had a problem.

I also owned a 2001 F-150 with 5.4L and 4WD for several years. It had hard service on a rural property hauling loads and using 4WD on sketchy fire roads. Same solid reliability. I got no problem with Ford.

yeah my 2012 Ram looks better than my neighbors 2014 F150. He has the patented rear cab rust on his truck. I see this on many Ford p/u's. Seems like there is an issue they are not addressing.

just my $0.02

yeah. best out there.
which Ford dealer currently has the 7.3 or the 300 straight six?
Ford has been determined to turn from sound engineering since then. (2002)
And technically that 7.3 was an engine by International Harvester engineers. Navistar brand. So you got REALLY LUCKY. that time,.

My company has been using Ford Transits for the field guys.
There have learned to get rid of them before 100K miles because the transmissions go bad.
They are slowly going to Ford Rangers,I dont know if thats good or bad.
I dont know why they stick with Fords, never asked and I dont really care.
I dont drive a company vehicle.
