Its two clicks on the "info" lever on the F-150.
The Ford IOLM works great. You can probably rely on it. I tested it with two used oil analysis on my last fill, which I ran to the bitter end, 8,300 miles. The analysis said I had plenty of add pack left, but luckily I had ordered the TAN test, which was high enough to signal a change.Everything was still well within spec. The IOLM is conservative. The device had picked up on the fact that my short-commute wasn't long enough to heat the add pack to allow it to do its job, and the acid build up was beginning to outrun the add pack, even though I still had a lot of powder dry, so to speak. That was a pretty sophisticated call by the IOLM.
I scrutinized the life remaining function on a percentage point by percentage point basis for a while. Supposedly there are lots of variables that go into it, but it became obvious to me that the thing Ford really hates is vehicle inactivity. Park the car for a few days and you will be dinged a couple of percentage points. Take a highway trip and the counter will practically stop and not immediately resume its countdown even if you resume your short-haul driving style.
