I dunno man, I think you should see the Range Rover ascent/descent post called "What other car do you think can do this?"

Not an Explorer!

Although that's pretty cool, un-stucking a bus :D

This youtube comment says its all:

Power is not the issue here, it's weight and traction. Spinning all four tires in the snow does not require much engine. Between what traction the bus had and what the Explorer had, it was just enough.

I know that. I was posting this as a joke in response to the "what other car can do this" thread. I bet a jeep could, by the way, lol.

I'd still give props to the Expy in that vid.

Spinning all four wheels through snow, with that much weight attached, and managing to help it move still takes a tough truck.

Cool video, though not the first of its kind. There are a couple videos floating around of various pickups and SUVs pulling stuck semis.

An Explorer doesn't have a $75K price tag either.

Can't get a good enough shot to see the fender badges. Might be a 5.0L. Regardless, I've pulled a 7,000lb boat out of the lake on a steep grade that my old landlord's 4.3L Astro van wouldn't BUDGE. My old 4.0L Explorer pulled it out like it was nothing. Those little buggers can TOW.

I like the heartless school district that still makes the kids go through an inch and a half of snow. The horrors!

That's not that surprising that the Explorer can asssit the bus up a hill. A local school bus company has for years used an early 90's Chev 3/4 ton 350 truck (owned since new) as their only tow vehicle for broken down buses. It's pulled many broken down or stuck buses over the years. They do on occassion have to call out a tow when the bus gets stuck really badly and the pickup doesn't have the power or weight to get it out. The tow company will usually send the largest wrecker they have.
