My 2 liter ford without a turbo was killing the oil in 2500 miles also, so I went to 10W30 Quaker State - one of the better and affordable 10W30 out there. Car ran well across Spring and Summer. I am sending out an oil sample to compare to the 5W20 Castrol I ran Previously that got killed.
I would recommend you try the 10W30 and avoid any 5W - Ken
If it is of concern to maintain engine warranty, stick with Ford's viscosity recommendations.
Just because it has sheared, doesn't mean it isn't protecting
Best defense is to change the oil more frequently.

I must disagree, the best defense would be a more robust oil as the OCI is already short.
But professional advice would always be to follow the manufacture's recommendations
or get an O.K (in writing) from the Service Manager or Regional after presentation of your UOA data.
Don’t hate me. I have free oil changes at my stealership . But I’m actually about to trade this in for a 2023 Honda HRV. It has a 2.0 n/a. Multiport fuel injection. It does have a CVT. But I owned two Hondas with CVT and no issues. Changed fluid at 30,000 intervals. 2013 accord and a 2018 Civic.
