This is worse. This whole time i genuinely thought the ceos already knew about this but still choose to do it anyway. The fact that he's only finding out now is unbelievable. He and many other auto ceo's don't know what they're doing at all.
It is concerning. There are drawbacks to many different types of vehicles and it's problematic if the top of Ford itself doesn't understand what is going on. For one he should have used a faster charger, but on top of that not knowing shows he doesn't take it seriously and isn't involved in the experience.

You have a point. I like CEO Farley, but his comments seem a little odd. That’s why my post was “can’t be that dumb.”
I think it might be naivety. I just don't think he's ever really used an EV and hasn't given it too much thought. Personally though if it was me in charge of Ford it would be a good look to be in a Lightning for the brand, but I'm guessing he probably drives an ecoboost Limited or a Super Duty. I'd be very surprised if he drove anything but an F series given it's their top seller.
The CEOs are back pedaling, sucked up to the government to get all the money they could from going along with EVs politcal agenda. They know if they want to stay in business they will need to make gasoline and diesel vehicles to service the folks that electric vehicles won't be an option. Too many people are clueless about how people live in many parts of the country, not alone how or where their food is grown and gets to the stores. Not until they go hungery will they will wake up and by then it will be too late for alot of them.
I think that's a bit cynical. I don't think Farley is trying to get anything over on anybody. It's a huge company and EVs are a small part of that business and he's not personally interested from what it sounds like, but they have their division in charge of it. While they've had problems, the products are pretty good if they're just phoning it in.
No, most are saying they will be all electric by a certain date, knowing darn well that won't happen, as money is getting pushed their way. Like I said some people are clueless.
That's far from clueless saying they'll be full EV if that's your take on it. It's crooked if it isn't true and at base value at least idealistic.
Please. Farley had to know. He’s the head of a great American automobile company. If he didn’t, he incompetent.
Please. Our country and economy is based on business. Ford doesn’t have to suck up to anyone.
Really, Why all the unrealistic dates of going 100 percent electric by some of these companies, its business.
I'd love to be the fly on the wall when this guy gets back to his office. The meetings should be interesting, primarily because he was surrounded by people who were afraid to tell him the truth. That he or someone senior in Ford didn't do this at launch is pretty bad.
So Farley takes a trip to check out the ease of real world use of one of his company's EV offerings and he's an out of touch suit?
