I have been using Zanio products for the past 7 years and have always done it by hand. This spring I am going to try the "machine method" and have decided on the porter cable 7424 (based on reviews read here).

My question is, which or what type of pads are you guys using
for which Zaino product ( I have them all ).

I plan on purchasing the machine and pads from autogeek....

Thanks for any tips or tricks you can give me.

ZPC - I use orange or yellow pads, depending on the amount of cut I want. For lighter polishing I'll use white or green pads. Meguiars 8006 yellow and their 9006 white, Propel P2 orange and green, Lake Country green, white and orange CCS pads.

ZAIO - I like the LC CCS or Propel green pads or the Megs 9006 white ones. They're excellent for light polishing/paint cleaning/pre Z2-Z5 step.

As with all things Zaino, less is more. I can light polish an entire car with an ounce of ZAIO. Once the pad is saturated, just a few drop will keep you going.

Make sure to get a couple nice backing plates depending on your pad size. They may be expensive but they last forever.

No water, spray some Z6 on the pad.

ZPC works well with LC orange or white pads. It tends to dust more with open celled pads such as the Megs Yellow polishing pad. I find the black pad is too soft for ZPC but works great for ZAIO.

What ever floats your boat, just get it slightly damp.
