For some reason the fonts used by BITOG under FIREFOX are tiny and much smaller than any other webpage on FIREFOX. On IE 10, they are fine. If I change some options on FIREFOX to increase font size in general, the fonts for other pages are huge.

I seem to remember encountering this before but cannot remember what resolved it. Could not find it when I searched BITOG.

There is an add-on for Firefox called NoSquint. It allows you to set custom zoom levels for every individual website that you visit.

I thought Firefox did that by default.

By default, you have one single zoom setting that will affect ALL websites. So if I set BITOG to 150%, then every other website I go to will also be at 150%.

With this addon, you can set BITOG to 150%, CNN to 120%, Facebook to 80%, etc, and the settings will be remembered next time you visit these sites.

Are you sure? For as long as I can remember, what it's done for me is the way you describe it except that also separate tabs can have different zoom levels.

Maybe Adblock Plus or Ubuntu extensions also add this feature?

Firefox 22.0.

When in firefox, press ALT and it will drop down a menu on the top of the window. From there you can drop down view>zoom>zoom text only.

Then, when on a webpage with small text. Hold CTRL + move scroll wheel to zoom on the fly, or permanently set a zoom through the zoom menu.

In Firefox, select

Tools
Options
Content
Fonts - then Sizes

Also in the top toolbar, select View - then Character Encoding
