Foam Filters (UNI or Amsoil) ?'s

Uni makes a replacement filter for my bike. I refuse to use a K&N because I intend to own it years & many miles from now. ? I believe they flow better & trap more& finer particals of dirt- opposed to paper?? Are foam filters as loud as K&N's or even paper?

I have found now only 3 co.'s use a "reticulated foam"(UNI,ITG,Pipercross)It's being used in dirt bikes & WRC rally cars. So I figure they can filer a lot of dirt. 2nd I am building a helmholz tuned ram air sys. and it may let some water in the air box cause 2 intake ducts at front of my fairing. 3rd I'd like that indution sound to ward off sqids on rice burners. 4yh my factory rep. filter is @$70Cnd(paper) opposed to $30Usd(UNI) (and your right I don't want this

to happen to my scooter

A saving grace from George CLS(Exxon Mobil S.Sponser) "I have reviewed several oil analysis results for UNI equipped vehicles (including spectro, particle count and ferrographies) and the results were superb. Very high quality manufacture, much better than other foams I have seen.. Excellent.

then how come all dirtbikes and atv's come with foam filters? they have had foam filters for decades and no one has come up with a better filter for them. all they ever do is ride in heavy dust and dirt.
