Came across a comment from Fordmaculoco--- he believes Fluid Film works better to prevent corrosion on batteries than dielectric grease.

All I know is all of my Ford batteries corrode significantly more than my non-Ford batteries.

From Maculoco:
I am convinced using Fluid Film on top of your battery terminals is even better than the dielectric grease I normally use to protect them."

Sure, why not? People have used all kinds of things. Regular grease, white lithium, WD40, whatever that red stuff is. Can't imagine FF wouldn't work as well.

I've seen Eric at SMA use it on batteries too.

I use a CRC battery spray. I don't like touching/messing with Fluid Film down the road.

Do the felt pads help keep the corrosion at bay? I've used the purple battery post coating with some success.

Having worked allot of places - I’m familiar with FF - but it’s not like any of us in the Houston area will have any handy ! CRC tends to always have good products …

What! Using a product not specifically designed for the task, and with success? It cannot be 🤣
Thinking outside of the battery box.....If it works it works.
Me, I personally use Deoxit, it leaves a light film on the battery connections. I also use it on all ground strap connections.

From my experience, pretty much anything that will isolate the posts and clamps from the battery offgasing and moisture, will work.

I’ve used Vaseline, wd40, dialectic grease, silicone grease etc. They all will prevent battery post and clamp corrosion.

Why would I use non-conductive grease on a terminal when simply trying to form a protective barrier on it, which any grease within arm's reach can accomplish? The grease isn't going to form a short from terminal to terminal if it isn't perfectly non conductive.

The handy thing about FF is that it's handy and it comes in a spray can. And I might have got a few cases of Blaster SS and FF from last winter's clearance at AA and HD.

It actually works really good. More wash off resistance than the CRC or NOCO sprays. I've experimented with this at work where we use lots of 6V deep cycle batteries that are boiled on a daily basis, spilling "water" everywhere. The red CRC spray will wash off whereas products like FF will not (We have Blaster Surface Shield at work). The thicker yellow NOCO spray does seem to hold up OK as well.

It's also great to coat the battery trays with the stuff to keep corrosion at bay. The batteries I deal with off-gas way worse.
