"SFO is special qualification because of the terrain and procedures, some of which are unique."
I grew up in Millbrae California and my parents house was at the top of Millbrae [1044 Crestview Dr.]. The planes landing at SFO looked like the Bayshore freeway during rush hour. I would watch the planes land for hours some times and marvel at the skill needed to do what the pilots did routinely.

SFO is more challenging than many airports due to the parallel runway ( closed spaced ) configuration.
My airline had a boo-boo there several years ago but it was unrelated to the normal challenges pilots can face flying into SFO.
It’s best to line up on the correct runway and use normal radio panel selection procedures ( second flight ).
Some places are no big deal flying into but a place like SFO ( less so if both pilots are very familiar, but not complacent ) requires a thorough review, and briefing prior to starting descent.
I used to love flying into SFO except for the ATC ground stops.
