Flexible air hose

Hi,

I have a chinese orange air hose from HD. Got it many years ago when I got my compressor. It is horribly stiff. Cant easily even coil it up.

I dont use air tools a lot, so I like to be able to lay the lines in a circle to hang them up in a compact way. This stuff just wont do it anymore.

Recommendations?

I recently bought the Goodyear orange hose from Harbor Freight. It seems like a very good hose. It is also made in the USA, probably one of the few things in Harbor Freight made here!

HD and HFreght carry rubber hoses. Harbor Freight has Goodyear rubber hoses around $20 each. They coil nicely and are very pliable. Made in USA is a bonus.

I frame houses with air guns. I easily have 2000 feet of hose. The best I have found are made of polyurethane. They unroll easily. Have a hard shell which means they slide and don't get stuck when you pull on them.
The rubber ones are fine for garage use though. Today was -35 and my hoses unrolled fine this morning and rolled up fine tonight.

I just switched to the silicone based "Flexilla" brand air hose.

Flexilla Air Hose

It stays flexible even in sub-zero temperatures. I don't think any other brand will be any more pliable. I kinda like the cool lime green hi-visability color too. The only unknown is how durable the hose will be long term.

They are available at Tractor Supply Company, Sears, and on Amazon.

Those are the same as I have only mine are blue. They feel like plastic but are very durable. I have had many of these for years. They are called "eelhose" or something.

I was just gonna say Flexzilla. The MATCO guy sells the living s/// out of them and everyone that has bought them loves them. We were looking at getting them for the dealer, but the price point was too high and ended up with some ACDelco ones from a FAD.

Another vote for Flexzilla! I have 2 at the shop I work at that have been in service for over a year. They have dealt with all shop related chemicals being spilled on them and the 145psi air pressure too.

I have a Goodyear black rubber hose on my compressor that is about 17 years old. Still very flexable.

Legacy offers 50 ft of Flexilla hose on a portable reel; I think it is a good way to neatly store the hose.

I would avoid the cheapest no-name air hoses at HF. I have Flexilla and Goodyear.

I have a yellow goodyear hose I like it but it doesn't get used very often.
