Pulled off an 07 GMC W4500 aka Isuzu NPR

5.2L I4 Turbo-Diesel

Filter date 2014, not sure of service life as this truck was off since COVID. But I believe serviced in 2019, so maybe 10,000Km

Filter is a dual-flow Full/Bypass Type made by Sakura in Indonesia. Sakura sells as Sure Filter in the USA. Very good filters BTW

Replaced with Baldwin BD7159 and Supertech 15W40

The bypass filter along with a full flow all in one is an interesting design. I guess Cummins likes it anyway.

Very interesting design. Can someone ELI5 how it works exactly?
One element is much more efficient than the other. Oil flows through both elements, but flow will be slower through the high efficiency element. The old Microgreen filters worked on the same basic principle.

There are some interesting features such as an inner o-ring that would seal over an extended centre bolt. Also some small holes in the first section between the tapping plate and the inner o-ring. I know the 6cyl isuzu use the extended centre bolt like on fuel filters

Also some small holes in the first section between the tapping plate and the inner o-ring.
So is there also an O-ring between the two elements, or some other kind of seal? If there is no seal, dirty oil could get past the two elements.
