There is a heavy equipment dealer near me that sells Caterpillar, Kubota, and New Holland equipment. They had a bunch of Fleetguard filters on the shelf at a decent price, and one had a cross reference to the Wix 51085 which fits my Jeep. How does the quality of Fleetguard filters compare to that of Wix or Purolator? This equipment dealer is closer to me than walmart or advance auto.

They also had Baldwin filters there. Which one would be a better filter, the Baldwin or the Fleetguard? I believe the Baldwin for my application is the B34.

When I had my Dodge with the Cummins in it, Fleetguard Stratopores were all I used. Fleetguard makes a great filter and is the factory installed filter on a lot of heavy duty trucks. I don't know if Cummins owns them too, but I know thats what they use on their engines. Baldwin is a good filter though too, I'd say use which ever is cheepest

Sounds like a plan.

Fleetguard is owned by Cummins and as mentioned very widely used in heavy duty applications.

Those fleetguard filters (LF3604) don't use the Stratapore media, it is Cellulose. Either way they are still a very good filter though.
