2010 ford explorer, 4.0 V6. specs a FL820S. can the 500 filter safely be used in place of the 820? i work at a pennzoil xpress lube for the time being, we get a really large volume of Fords come through ( i dont see why people still go here, the owner charges ridiculous prices, for example, any diesel truck for oil and fuel filters, cheapest is $215, with rotella 15W40, T6 Rotella and fuel filter is at least $300) 99% of the fords take a PZ-173 oil filter, and sometimes we run out, so we have the customer walk over to the autozone to get a filter, they usually come back with a STP, although i recommend Motorcraft. So it seems as though an FL820S and FL500S are interchangeable? correct me if im wrong.
