FL2021 pics from two different manufacturers.

Hey fellas!

So, I've been buying Motorcraft FL2021 filters for a few years and they have always looked the same until recently. 3-4 months ago I stopped into Advance to grabs a few more and noticed the box was a little taller than normal. I opened it up and saw a filter from a different manufacturer in there. I don't have a problem with the change, I'm just curious who it's from. Im pretty sure the filter I was familiar with is made by Purolator. In the following pics the newer style is on the left, and the older style on the right.

Any idea who made the guy on the left? It is stamped "Made in U.K." also notice the white adbv. That's a first for me! I kinda like that it's a smidge taller. I figure that adds like a whole .25oz oil capacity!

not sure on make, but that is a carbon copy of the filter for my LR3-OEM from UK! Croslands?

I think Purolater uses those oval holes. not sure about the new one....hope it's not Fram.

Don't believe FRAM makes filters in the UK.

Why are we seeing a coil spring in the bottom of the new one? Is it missing the bypass valve? I'd actually guess that it looks like it might be from Champion Labs. I don't know if it's an illusion, but that base gasket looks like one WIDE GASKET!

I just decontructed a used one of these new type filters. (First time, i tore it up good!) It does have a spring type bypass, if you look closely there are 4 prongs wrapped around the bottom of the spring (the top, from the point of view of the camera in these pics) that holds the flap up. Seemed to work well when i pushed down on it. The white rubber (I'm guessing just a white nitrile) adbv was nice and soft. I left this filter sitting face down in a bucket for 3 weeks, and a good amount of oil came out when I pierced the side of the can, so I guess it works! I saw "parker" stamped on the underside of the adbv. Is that a filter manufacturer?

Aside from me tearing the snot out of the media with my hamfistedness, it looked great. It was dense, evenly spaced, and not wavy.

I may take pics in a bit and post up, only if you promise not to laugh at how I tore the poor thing up!

Doesn't look like any Champ labs I've seen, especially bypass design. The gray adbv material reminds me of some the Euro Mann or Bosch filters.

Some one mentioned Crosland, not familiar with them but, apparantly they have made filters for Euro FoMoCo in the past.

Right side clearly Puro made.

I mentioned Crosland as they have made Land Rover filters of similar construction for years. I have one that I need to cut up on my shelf in the garage as well.
