Fixing This Glovebox?

I had to replace the glove box on my Lexus GX470. I got the new replacement and need to swap the lock from the old one to the new glove box.
Sorta in a quandary... Got any ideas how to remove the wire from the old box and insert into the new one?

If it was mine I would probably attempt to separate the two halves and work on the inside.

Two of us can’t figure out how to separate the haves without tearing them up.

Given that you're replacing it I would tear into the dead one to see how best to disassemble the good one.

Oops, I should have updated you all. My Son-in-law came over and looked down in the new one and found that metal wire stuck down in it. My eyes were too feeble to see it. It was already in there. Just slightly hidden. All is well.
