Interesting video of a FITHOPS trip alarm device reportedly in real world scenario.

https://fithops.com/

I started to study this and like devices. Currently, the device delivers as intended. I suspect thieves may become numb to these devices over time. The sound is a supplemental benefit (alarm) of the device. I don't know how much damage to the truck's interior setting off the device causes.

It is good to know, the truck owner after eight break-ins over three months to his truck, has some tools at his disposal to reduce the theft attempts of his property (truck).

Studying the suspect's car- it appears no license plate. Although the suspect's vehicle is likely stolen, I think it would be beneficial that if a vehicle has no tag, stolen tag, modified tag, fake tag, etc- that vehicle be impounded for a minimum of 90 days.

Interesting. I wonder what prevents someone from installing a live .22 round or real shotgun shell, which might cause injury?

Booby trapping your property with a "Man trap" or similar device has been illegal for centuries. It was a principle of common law before the USA existed. One reason is that since they act indiscriminately on whoever trips the trigger for whatever reason, they are prone to injure a well-intentioned police or fire responder or a good samaritian.

The devices in the OP are being (somewhat dubiously) sold on the principle that they are "alarm systems" with the intent that the noise will merely alert the owner or anyone nearby to an intruder, not automatically stop the intruder by force.
