First Timer With AMSOIL

I don think they are trying to be hostile towards Amsoil the oil is a fantastic product !
The oil filter on the other hand well you could do better for less money that's all !
They aren't being hostile towards AMSOIL. Just the filters. He's deliberately mischaracterizing the arguments to create a straw man to attack. AMSOIL makes great oil. I don't think anyone is disputing that.

I sir, do not believe most of the filters falter this way. I don't believe it's as bad as some make it out to be. Amsoil wiping out engines with filters. It's my choice, appreciate the failure news.
It's my progative, explosive subject

The evidence is right here in th filter page with a LOT of pictures.

It’s worse than you think. But you be an ostrich, burry your head in the sand. That’s ok, I guess

It’s easily the majority, unfortunately. I’d say 2/3s is a rough ballpark as the floor and that may be conservative.

Amsoil typically has top shelf products; especially their entire lubricants portfolio.

The value with their currently labeled oil filters; made by Champ Labs (since they’ve been owned by First Brands), just isn’t there now with the defects.

And, other labels have jumped ship from poor manufacturing of oil filters, not only limited to Champ Labs.

Wix no longer makes the Napa Gold, for example. That, too, is made by PGI now. Mobil 1 Extended Performance swapped to them as well.

So, I’d be shocked if Amsoil doesn’t address the matter in a similar fashion.

Sorry to somewhat derail your thread, but this topic has been thoroughly covered in the oil filter sub-forum here.

If you do so choose, I know Amsoil will gladly refund your filter costs if you bring up the issue.

I was refunded after I reached out to Amsoil when I had questions over this issue and decided to email them the major thread in the oil filter sub-forums here that detailed and documented the issue as being widespread.

I was told to keep those filters and got my money back, but I chose not run them since I prefer to run extended OCIs.

Folks here just want to make sure you are well informed and getting your value for the investment. Amsoil is typically far and above very good, but like with any brand there can be situations like this; especially if you don’t manufacture the item directly.
Thank you for the information and politely expressing it. Good information

Yes, they are overpriced and I had extra funds to splurge on some AMSOIL products. Such a big deal over a small purchase, I don't understand the hostility towards AMSOIL in particular. Not you in particular, just in general, it's sad. We're talking oil and filters when it comes down to it.
Nobody is hostile towards Amsoil, it’s just the standard boutique vs. OTS animosity. Lots of folks don’t understand why some of us want to run an Amsoil, HPL, Motul 300v, etc.

I ran my CRV mostly on XL or OE Amsoil 5w-30 up to 300k when I gave the car to my niece. Kept the engine nice and clean. I had minor usage (1qrt over 5000 miles or so) towards the end. This will serve you very well.

Thanks. I met a great guy whose a salesman. If I like it enough, possibly with some lab study, I may go XL or AMSOIL Signature Series LONG-TERM
