I purchased some 5w-30 AMSOIL Signature Series XL. First AMSOIL oil I have ever purchased
The XL is a mediate brand below the standard Signature Series.
Anyone use it before? I plan on running through 7k miles intervals. Already got the AMSOIL oil filter.
Picked up some side goodies too, fuel treatment with PEA, upper cylinder lubricant, some 2 stroke oil, 3 bottles of power steering fluid. Some gifts, some I paid for.

The XL line is independent of the Signature Series. That being said it should serve you well for your oci.

I am an avid Amsoil "OIL" user....but will never use one of their filters again !!

I have used the XL in the past, but lately I am using the Signature Series and High Mileage more.

The XL should handle that OCI with ease, great choice.

"Mediate brand"?

Intermediate line maybe?

Even with all the feedback in your AMSOIL oil filter thread, you still paid that big premium for a bad filter?

You already purchased. What info are you hoping to gain here? You didn't even mention the cars it's going in and the application..

Thanks, ii have two basic çars, no turbo, just highway miles traveled. An 03 Ford Focus and an 08 Corolla, both with just under 200k miles.
The XL should work out fine for 7500miles.

I still drive these two beasts even though the AMSOIL filter should destroy my vehicle so say many. I am OK running them.

Ok…..you really should look at the filter info
It’s a complete turd

@RobbS I have been running their filters for years. Never had an issue, and I have used oil analysis to show they work just fine. I cut them open too and have yet to see one that was bad. You will be fine.

I’d be curious if you have particulate counts on these comparing them against other filters?

For those that don’t frequent the oil filter section here. The Amsoil, Fram Endurance, and Royal Purple oil filters are the same and are made by Champ Labs(First Brands). They have a leaf spring stamping problem that allows some dirty oil to bypass the media. I have been in contact with Amsoil and they are aware of the problem. I have also contacted Fram and they never even responded.

This is a more recent "Worst Brands" issue that's affecting all the cans that share this design. Back before Champ was bought out, the filters were fine, maybe not as good as when they were using Donaldson media, but still good.

Dealers got a survey last week and I made it a point to note that they needed a supplier change NOW, and I recommended the same two companies I mentioned that I'd like to see on here, either Fleetguard or Donaldson.

I did EXACTLY the same! I even added, "it's completely embarrassing......".

To RobbS:
May the Amsoil make your engine run 'silently' and give you joy.

Years ago, a change to synthetic oil silenced my engine's normal, top end ticking.
I was elated.
I got a good price and wanted to try out their extended service. 7k miles interval. I have seen other filters fail the light leaf spring test. Most all filters today have some kind of issues.
MicroGard Select and Mobil 1 Extended Performance are my go to regularly. Purchased some AMSOIL products and I got 6 filters. Not the end of an engine or the world for that matter

With those cars, XL should EASily go 10k miles unless you're mostly short tripping.
(But one UOA to be sure 👍)
