First Brand shutters Champion

The PG filters are Chinese, but they aren't any cheaper than Fram. They jacked up their prices as Fram/Champ and Purolator/Wix went down the drain :sneaky:

Except for yard care power tools, I haven't used a Champion plug in over 40 years. While it is sad to see the ruin being created by First Brands, this one is no big loss.

I wonder if one of the other spark plug manufacturers will buy the name, just to pick up the market of spark plugs for this use.

Champion the spark plug company is owned by Tenneco, which is unrelated to the First Brands owned Champion Laboratories that makes oil filters.

I'm not really familiar with all of these laws, but I'm a little bit surprised that some of the brands under this umbrella weren't/aren't sold off.

Yeah Autolite is the spark plug company that's caught up in this bankrupcy... They were the go to for Ford for years. Lately I've been running NGK/Denso in pretty much everything. Never had any problems with an Autolite plug personally.

If I have this right these are the filters such as the Champ XL and the Motomaster OE Plus with the Product of USA printing on the bottom of the filter? If so I might have pick a few more at Canadian Tire.

Albion, Michigan in Calhoun County. Are there any more Made in USA oil filters?
